Guang Yang did his Ph.D. in environmental sciences at the Nankai University in China. From 2012 to 2014, he was in the Wilkinson group for 18 months as a joint doctoral student. He joined the Wilkinson group again as a postdoctoral researcher in summer 2017. He works on evaluating the bioavailability of rare earth elements to Chlamydomonas reinhardtii. His research aims to gain a better understanding of the bioavailability and toxicity of REEs for both single metal and mixtures by using biotic ligand models (BLM).
